In Russia, Lawyer's Day is traditionally celebrated on December 3. This day was officially established in 2008 by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation. The holiday serves as recognition of the important role of the legal profession in the state structure and society as a whole. Various events are usually held on this day, including award ceremonies for lawyers, conferences, lectures and round tables on legal topics.
In other countries, such as Ukraine, Lawyer's Day is celebrated on October 8, in Armenia - December 10, and in some countries, such as the United States, Lawyer's Day is not an official holiday, but events may be held as part of Legal Aid Week or Professional Lawyer's Week.
The holiday serves to highlight the importance of the legal profession and remind society of the role of lawyers, prosecutors, judges, legal consultants and other legal professionals in ensuring justice and law and order.
